Here’s a short selection of Florence ‘s latest Artwork. These paintings were exhibited in October at Railway Street Gallery in New Market Auckland. More to come, stay tuned.

A big thank you to all of you who attended the opening of Florence latest exhibition. With more than 220 people attending on Friday it was a huge success. From the verbal and written feedback (and quite frankly also from the volume of sales) it makes no doubt that her artwork is getting very popular.
We had also a lot of people visiting the gallery on Sunday during the live jazz concert and were lucky enough to have Jennifer Zea performing. The flip side from these two very crowded days is that it was sometimes a bit challenging to see the pictures and also to talk to the artist.
The good news is that the exhibition is running until October 30th and the gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00am to 3.00pm, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the show in a quieter atmosphere during the rest of the month.

Florence Ichter-Simon
Florence’s exhibition “PassagE” has attracted more than 170 visitors at the NorthArt Gallery in Northcote between the 5th and the 20th of September 2012. During these 2 weeks people could see Florence’s latest artwork, a collection of 20 pieces deeply influenced by recent events that happened in New Zealand or in the rest of the world, but also by a revival of personal memories. Florence‘s art involves abstractions of landscapes or buildings and her collage style artworks contain personal and universal messages that appeals to the viewer.
In her work Florence uses colours, from rich reds, to yellows and warm browns to cooler whites and greys. Her artwork teases the viewer with both familiar and unfamiliar references and pushes him to derive his or her own meaning from her works, to have an individual experience and relate to her art in a personal way. By doing so the viewer merges his own personal memories with those of the artist creating a new and absolutely unique experience.
